Comments:

Although smaller than expected, the through traffic was at a good level for the entire exhibition.

The opportunities to meet people other than those pariahs on stand duty was virtually nil. The stands were uninteresting.

Not many stands or delegates whilst I was there (12.30 - 2.30)

The noisy announcements were a nightmare- scuppered conversations mid flow.Quality of the sanwiches/salads was poor for price

Good range of exhibitors, good atmosphere, well arranged, met many useful contacts, existing and new

Very well run professional event with great speakers Tender Zone was very interesting

The venue was very poor. The Brighton Centre is dirty and entrance is a disgrace

It didn't take much time to look round the stalls - I expected more stands, I suppose.

Very few stands, very poor quality of stands and layout, a poor imitation of the show it used to be - current climate perhaps?

I was impressed by the organisation, the buzz of the room and the calibre of exhibitors. It was my first event.

It would be great if some of the Mid to large sized local companies could exhibit, even if it was just to show thier face.

We were exhibiting

The venue is too big and I believe the best venue is the Dome - the shows were much livelier there.

Disappointed with the size of show and lack of stands this year in comparison to previous years. No food provided for members

The NHS as a main sponsor was inappropriate and in terms of exhibitors the public sector/private balance was wrong.

Felt a little lacking in exhibitors of a business nature. Dominated by IT companies and quasi govt bodies was my impression

Optional comment Wasn't very impressed with the show, only found one exhibitor that interested me.Found it all to be abit dry!

The additional workshops put on in the morning were brilliant - effective marketing company and Pure 360 made great presentation

Was a bit disappointed in the exhibition - not enough stands

Very noisy - arrrgh the tannoy! Events did not happen properly or conflicted. Not very well run. Seemed a bit amateur. A shame

Sussex Enterprise staff were unable to direct me to one of the workshops

The closing time was not clean on anything I read, until after I was refused admission. I have e-mailed Gill Edinburgh

I was disappointed in the lack of businesses with stands at the show. The majority of exhibitors were advisory/ support services

I was late in booking to attend, the workshops were booked up. I attended the additional fringe sessions - very good

Not enough delegates or stands. Cost makes it difficult for businesses to justify. Professional branding, though.

Poor number of exhibitors, felt a bit thin.

very gloomy hall where the exhibitors were. would have expected better coffee facilities

There was no representation of any manufacturing companies there. Does nobody actually make anything in this country now?

Great marketing this year, but the event didn't meet up to expectations

Not as many exhibitors as expected, the "networking" at 8am was NOT networking at all as no one hosted it

Exhibition was a bit 'thin' Could not find pre-event info about time of Digby Jones speech, assumed that it would be a.m.

Would have preferred more, higher level activity in the main hall.

The fringe sessions were excellent and I ducked out of 2 pre-booked workshops to attend them - v glad I did.

lack of energy and excitement

Felt less supported as an event in terms of stands and attendees not unexpected but qulaity down as a result, one main Bank poor

Although some poor communication regarding timings for opening address and background noise caused some issues.

Having exhibited in the past I did not expect a great show. I was not disappointed. Few stands and a poor range of companies

Comments:

Couldn't stay until 3pm

Digby Jones' speech was interesting, relevant and topical as well as humourous in places. He's always good to listen to.

Did not attend

Brilliant

Excellent choice of speaker, thought provoking and insightful commentary without James Caan's ego!

didnt have time to see him

didn't attend as couldn't find enough to do to fill the hours until he spoke, so we left

I didnt really know what to expect - I probably thought we would be preached at - however it was enlightening and enjoyable.

Great stuff, could have been tightened up and deliverd in 30 mins + 10 mins questions

Unfortunately I have to leave at 2.00 pm so missed the keynote speech

Digby started out extremely well but then went on and on for far too long.

had to miss this

Ther was a two hou gap between seminars. Thia was far too long.

An inspiring and humorous talk, full of insight as to the future of British business.

Excellent overview he needs still to be in the job!

Brilliant as always

After a slow start, I felt it was relevant, informational and engaging

Great speach

Did not see this

Didn't know who thye keynote speaker was until the day itself - a wasted marketing opportunity of your own. He was excellent.

The best public speaker I have ever attended

Na

Inspirational speech

High expectations but he delivered

An inspirational speaker who was current and relevant

I am President of the Institute of Sound and Communication Engineers I thought the Audio was very poor No bass cut on Mics etc

I expected a motivational/inspirational speach, but it was a story of Digby's working life which was interesting, but unexpected

Did not attend although speech was excellent at the Premier Members Lunch.

Always good especially when he has a dig at our French cousins. Pity there was not a full house.

Did not attend. Whole objective was for new potential client, and due to low attendance of the show this was extremely difficult

Very inspiring and encouraging.

The main exhibition 9 77 41
Comments:

Smaller than previous years, but was still a potentially successful exercise.

I was astonished how long it took me to understand what most of the stands were selling as they were so poorly presented.

As above, not many stands. However, were easier to locate and walk around than previous years

Less suppliers stands than I imagined there might be. Also thought it may be open to non SE members (for a small charge).

Exhibitors stalls disappointing

Good range of exhibitors, well laid out, business like but relaxed atmosphere

Perhaps the venue is too big for the show now? More help for exhibitors may raise the quality of stands?

Much smaller than I remember, the venue is not too big for it. Did not seem to be a buzz around the place

very poorly supported -the cost of having a stand is excessive and this is probably a reason

The event is too expensive to exhibit at and therefore there were not enough business exhibitors.

See above comments, not enough stands or enough variety

seemed fewer exhibitors than previous years - a lot of IT people, not much variety

Optional commentBest thing about the show.I picked up some interesting hints and tips! Good lively interesting presenters!

good mix of exhibitors, well laid out - shame I wasn't there to buy

I was disappointed in the lack of businesses with stands at the show. The majority of exhibitors were advisory/ support services

Exhibition was about what I thought it would be, perhaps a little lower than I expected on the number of company's exhibiting

Less stands than expected, not v busy delegate no.s. Many bus. support exhibitors, not enough real businesses exhibiting. Cost!

Found it difficult to really concentrate on what people were offering. small stands and limited space and terrible lighting!

See above, I left after the ten minutes it took to tour the show. Very disappointed.

Not a lot of business' there as expected

Looking for new suppliers or customers

Terribly empty even at lunchtime - probably because not enough networking and workshop events going on

Too many stands from one or two businesses, not enough versitility

Average

see above

The Exhibituon Shells were utilitarian and the overall layout was not appealing.

See above.

Would've been helpful to have a exhibition stand map & exhibitors list before the event. Microphones for workshop speakers.

Comments:

Useful information as far as I could tell - it was very noisy outside the room so was hard to hear

The noise from the Exhibition could clearly be heard above/through the partitions, it was awful!

I wanted to learn more about tendering for government contracts. I managed to grab some time with Andrew Shaerf at end of sessio

made some great new roads into sussex partnership. address was clear and concise and will help us do business with them

The NHS speaker here was brilliant. I run an SME of 2 employees yet he helped me lose my fear of tendering to large organisation

I thought this was to be about trg & employment issues - instead it was sales, I was not the only person to be confused by this

This was a very poor event as no information was given to take away,

Good for information but NOT to MASTER any skills as advertsied

The content was quite different to what I had expected and wasn't relevant to me

Comments:

Very difficult to hear the speakers over the general noise

I would have liked to know more about the tricks of the trade. Generally, we were told what to do, but not how to do it.

Very difficult to hear speakers as the seminar was held nearest the entrance and the speakers were not provided with microphones

This was not a workshop. It was a presentation. Too noisy, couldn't hear speakers. Believr content was good but frustrating.

Content fine but difficult to hear and session curtaioled by being summoned too early for Digby JOnes.

I could not hear what the speakers due to noise from the exhibition needed Mic's

An excellent workshop and comments received on all workshops very good. I think these saved the event by encouraging visitors.

The second speaker, in a wheelchair, spoke from a height lower than the listeners in rows , so we couldn't hear. Need a mike.

OK, a bit over my head technically, but I learnt the importance of using IT to get ahead in business.

More time was needed for this one, please repeat as a breakfast event

Background noise from the main exhibition made it very difficult to hear the speakers.

Thoroughly enjoyed the informational presentations given.

The Secrets of Getting Maximum Exposure for Your Business (Workshop) 6 21 6
Comments:

Excellent seminar with useful tips and enthusiastic speakers.

More interactive, but too noisy. Speakers struggled to hold attention. They did well under circumstances.

I could not hear what the speakers due to noise from the exhibition needed Mic's

Similar to Digital Marketing workshop.

new Shape of Training I thought was to be about staff motivation! What happened??

Well presented, but a 20 minutes too short to be of real value. Rushed to cover material and not enough time for case study.Pity

Again not enough time, this could have been better presented, do you check the ability of these trainers or just use volunteers?

Not entirely their fault - they couldn't be heard as there were no microphones and the PA system continuously interrupted

Very poor acoutsics in the enclosures

Interesting but very rushed as the key Note speaker was next on.

The Ambient noise and intrusive PA announcements. Workshop should have been in a separate room from the Main Exhibition.
